Have you ever been doing what you love, but felt lonely while doing it? Natalie Franke was a successful wedding photographer after college, but she lacked the resources and support necessary to build her brand. Creative entrepreneurship felt isolating for her, so Natalie decided to close the gap between her passion and community.
She started the Rising Tide Society in 2015 and the organization now hosts chapters internationally to foster support for creatives. Rising Tide Society is also a part of HoneyBook, which offers management software for creative businesses. Natalie serves as the head of community for HoneyBook, and regularly posts video blogs and some very motivational Instagram stories. The University of Pennsylvania graduate is now an educator, writer and community builder.
Listen here as Natalie speaks with Burgundy Fox intern Nicole Fallert about neuroscience, social media advertising and what she wants to be when she grows up.

This month is all about the wanderlust.
Whether its a staycation or a international journey, August is the time to pack up and take a trip. This is the time to don that high-rise one-piece suit we all fell for or make the moves for a healthy picnic with some besties. Or maybe take a drive to the tune of our August playlist.
This is the time to turn the tables and treat yourself with the same amount of attention you may give your career. Take the pressure off the trip by remembering it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be intentional.
Here are a few ways to make your travel #mindful:
Surely use your phone to catch up on podcasts, but leave it behind taking a walk on the beach or visiting a museum. Turn off you phone and appreciate the present. Otherwise, you may find yourself more occupied with posting photos than absorbing your destination.
2. Express Gratitude
Everyone travels differently, whether it’s your mother or your significant other. Sometimes travel plans go awry or you can’t pick a restaurant. Keep in mind how lucky you are to be going on a trip. It helps to start or end a meal by listing favorite memories from the day with your travel companions.
3. Set Goals
Real life will resume upon you’re return, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or sad after a memorable trip. Take the time toward the end of your travels to set goals for yourself after arriving home. This way, you are looking forward to your return. Remember that your life at home can be just as fulfilling as your life on the road.
We chose enjoy for our July theme because of the many opportunities this month presents to have fun with family, friends or simply to celebrate yourself, be it loudly or quietly.
Maybe celebrate this month means treating yourself to a Burgundy Fox subscription or dancing the night away in style. Remember that enjoying yourself doesn’t have to mean posting it on the internet, but if you do share a happy moment, tag us @burgundyfox with the hashtag #EnjoyJuly to spread the word.
With joy comes gratitude, so express gratitude to whoever or whatever makes you happy. Maybe it’s the constant support of your family or trying a different look. Pretend that July is the peak of a mountain top, and at this peak you are mindful. You see the nature and work and meaning around you and enjoy that sight.
Okay…we know this isn’t going to actually happen, but take time to treat yourself like the queen of the universe. The walk down from that peak will be a relief, and you’ll feel centered and ready to work.
We can’t wait to share what July will bring here at Burgundy Fox. Make sure to follow us @BurgundyFoxCo on Instagram and like our Facebook page. Empowerment is our way of celebrating.
